This website is dedicated to the amazingly original concept of recaptioning beloved shit one-panel comic The Family Circus to make it a) funnier b) more offensive. It is the work of C. Sandy Cyst, and that's probably the best joke you're gonna get but whatever. No-one has sued him yet.
It is the understanding of the establishment that Bil Keane is actually a pretty Okay Guy; he had the DFC shut down, as how could he not, but he had a sense of humour about the whole thing and even let them carry on to a nice round number before finishing. Hopefully we're not wrong about that.
The Family Circus of Values (FCoV; shit name, fuck knows what it means except that I was playing too much Bioshock) is set in a universe of undending pain and torment, ie our own, and charts the daily horror that is the life of the Keene family of Paradise Valley, both within and without the terrible comic that their patriach created for them and has now roped the second youngest into continuing.
The family includes Billy, the pragmatist who has survived by being the eldest and seeing it all from the start, and therefore knowing how to get out of the world's way when it's about to punch you in the face; Dolly, an ageless being of unknowable power and hunger incarnated in the body of a small fat girl, who rules the Keene household through fear; Jeffy, a worthless blob of carbon who is only kept around because it can do menial tasks almost as well as a donkey or golem; PJ, an unformed prototype creature of unknown worth; Bil, the patriach, who has long since lost all hope and sense of self-worth and spends most of his time staring mutely into the middle distance; Thel, the ghost of his hot dead wife, who continues to haunt the Keenes because she doesn't know what else to do; and Grandma, a barely animated corpse. Outside of the strip itself, there's "Bil Keene" the creator and "Jeff Keene" the current illustrator of the panel, who occasionally do battle with each other via their little collaborative hell-march, not to mention "Billy Keene", who has managed to escape to Disney.
Together, this family basically live in a cyclical hell not entirely of their own making, a unending orobouros of misery, vindictiveness, despair and violence. Comedy gold! LET'S READ THE ARCHIVES!
